After completing his education at the Ukrainian Institute of Water Management Engineers, now known as the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (NUWEE), Dr. Alexandr Teterja decided to specialize in the field of wastewater treatment. His work as the head of the Sewerage Laboratory Department was characterized by high professionalism and dedication to the field of science. Throughout his career, Dr. Alexandr Teterja defended his dissertation at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. In 2002, he was honored as a diploma recipient of the International Academic Popularity and Quality Rating “Golden Fortune” and received the Silver Medal “Independence of Ukraine” for his creation and improvement of scientific and practical methods for combating environmental pollution.
His merits were further recognized in the following years. In 2004, he was awarded the honorary cross “Honorable Cross” by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for his significant contribution to the development of Ukraine. In 2005, he received the Gold Medal and Certificate of “Golden” Participant at the 96th International Exhibition of Inventions “Concours Lépine” in Paris for the development of the BIOTAL system for biological wastewater treatment.
In 2008, he was honored with the medals “Leader of National Business” and “Golden Fortune.” In 2010, he became the Chairman of the Environmental Committee of the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce, and Industry. In 2012, he was elected a full member of the Ukrainian Technological Academy and awarded the title of Academician. In 2017, he was awarded the Order of the “Golden Star of Glory” for outstanding achievements in scientific and technical activities.
His achievements continued as he received the Gold Medal at the 34th International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Technologies in Geneva, as well as a special prize from the Korean Inventors Association for the high level of technology in the BIOTAL system for biological wastewater treatment.
